ATLANTA, Dec. 22, 2009—tops Software is pleased to announce that topsCephMate™ 2.0 is in final beta testing, with release to be made soon.

“Thank you to everyone who contributed ideas for improvements to topsCephMate,” said tops Founder and CEO Dr. Mark Sanchez. “In this version, we decided to completely rework the engine that drives the program. The result is a faster, smoother topsCephMate with a good foundation for future growth.”

New features and program changes include:

• topsCephMate Preferences
– Added soft-tissue/tooth movement ratios for customized soft-tissue changes.

• Image Set Menu
– Added the menu item, “Add X-ray.”

• Landmarks
– Added two new points, Mx 6 Mesial CEJ and Md 6 Mesial CEJ, for more precise marking of the first molars.
– Added second molars and corresponding landmarks.

• Contours
– Added an Anterior Cranial Base line that marks the left, midpoint, and right for better superimposition of X-rays from time-point to time-point. These points are added automatically after marking the contours and can be adjusted manually. 
– Improved the soft-tissue contour to accommodate multiple facial types for less adjusting.
– Added a new soft-tissue point, “Throat,” to finish out the analysis.

• Measurements
– Corrected a condition that displayed incorrect measurements in the McNamara Analysis.
– Added norms and standard deviation values in the measurements window.
– Added tooth and bony structure VTO change values in the measurements window.

• VTO Planning
– Added the ability to see the soft-tissue change as you move the incisors.
– Added full editing functionality in this view.
– Added the ability to adjust the soft-tissue by altering points along the soft-tissue contour lines.
– Added a view to see what movements have occurred in the analysis based upon the treatment plan you select.

• Superimposition
– Added Nasion to Basion at CC point for more precise overlay. Also added Nasion to Basion at Nasion point.
– Corrected a condition that will allow for a more precise profile view comparison.
