Meet team tops! Get to know our core employees.
Dr. Mark Sanchez
Mark is the founder, CEO and chief developer of tops Software, and a practicing orthodontist. He’s the only programmer of orthodontic practice management software who actually uses such a product on a daily basis. Mark developed his programming skills while pursuing a doctorate in physics at Georgia Tech. His dental degree and certificate in orthodontics are from Emory University. Amy Amend
Amy came to tops in 2006 as our receptionist and quickly moved into the position of meeting planner. She represents us on the AAO’s Exhibitor Advisory Committee, which provides a communications link between the AAO and its exhibitors. Here at tops, she gets us to many meetings and events, including our annual users meeting, topsFest™.
Missy Banther
Missy joined tops in 2003 after working as office manager for a high-volume orthodontic practice. She oversaw its transition to topsOrtho™, which caught our attention. Missy now manages the tops transition team, guiding offices through the process of installing topsOrtho. Missy has a bachelor’s degree from Kennesaw State University in Georgia.
Chris Benson
Chris is a tops developer. In the past 15 years, he’s worked with some of the biggest brands in the world, including Coca-Cola, Bank of America and Lowe’s…but we’re more entertained by the thought of Chris creating websites for BarbieGirls and Baby Alive. Chris has a B.B.A. degree in finance from Georgia State University. He and his wife are active in animal rescue and advocacy.
Diane Brooks
Diane is the tops office manager. She started working in the orthodontic profession in 1975 for one of Atlanta’s first orthodontists. She was an assistant, receptionist and lab technician, making retainers, study models and splints. Diane began working for Dr. Sanchez in his private practice in 1998 and joined tops Software in 2003.
Danyelle Cassady
Danyelle joined tops in 2002. Her nearly 11 years in the orthodontic profession includes working in an orthodontic practice, tops Software team trainer, and her current position as a customer support representative.
Ariann Fahey
Ariann has been in the orthodontic profession since 1984, working as a lab assistant, receptionist and office manager. She touched on many aspects of the orthodontic practice, including making appliances, filing insurance and managing patient accounts. Ariann came to tops in 1999 as a trainer, eventually moved to customer support, and now manages the support team.
Kyle Gabriel
Kyle, a tops developer, is a 2010 Georgia Tech computer science graduate. While in college, he was a software engineering intern at Apple Computer. He also worked for two years at an Apple retail store, as a member of the iPhone team and visual team lead. And, as if to prove that geeks are people, too, Kyle was captain of his high school varsity swim and dive team.
Terry Hailey
Terry’s 15 years of orthodontic experience come in handy in her role as a tops instructor. She joined tops in 2011 after working as executive manager and treatment coordinator for a busy, multi-location practice that used topsOrtho. In addition to her orthodontic skills, Terry is also certified as a chiropractic assistant and massage therapist…aaahhh.
Colleen Hall
Colleen has been with tops since 2005, first as an instructor. She now works in customer support, and provides follow-up to new tops customers. Colleen also coordinates our continuing education program. She has more than 10 years of experience in accounting and financial legal matters, and is a certified legal assistant.
Kim Hohenbrink
Kim has over 25 years of experience in the orthodontic field and is the author of a dozen orthodontic manuals. Before coming to tops in 2008, she created, implemented and managed the training program for the orthodontic robotic pioneer SureSmile. Kim manages the tops Software training program.
Alison Jones
Alison is VP of marketing and communications for tops Software, including overseeing the company web site, advertising and media relations. She has 20-plus years of experience with such companies as The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune newspaper, Chevron, Target and Georgia-Pacific.
Michael Ledford
Michael received his bachelor’s degree in computer science from the University of Georgia. Afterward, he joined a small Internet start-up company, where he designed a content management system that brought the company to profitability. During that time, he contributed to several open-source projects. Michael is the technical lead for tops web services and manages our programming team.
Betty Lloyd
Betty trains new offices on topsOrtho. As an office business manager for 11 years, she helped to build a successful orthodontic practice with tops Software, beginning as a single user and growing to a network of five workstations. Betty has also worked as a new patient coordinator, dental office manager and math teacher.
Toni Magni
Toni handles customer support and process engineering for tops’ European customers from his base in Italy. He has a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Brasilia (Brazil) and a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering from Case Western Reserve University. Toni represents tops on the American Dental Association Standards Committee on Dental Informatics (ADA SCDI), which develops standards for technology use in the dental/orthodontic profession.
Ann Miller
Ann trains new offices on topsOrtho. She previously worked in training and development for Monitronics Home Security Systems in Dallas, and as webmaster/learning systems coordinator for Edison Community College in Piqua, Ohio. Ann has a bachelor’s degree in digital communications and marketing from Franklin University in Ohio.
Chris Miner
Chris is vice president of sales for North America. He joined tops in 2009 as a sales rep for the northeastern U.S. and Canada. Previously, he sold practice management software and X-ray machines for Practiceworks/Kodak Dental Systems, and 3D cone beam CT-scan equipment for E-WOO Technology USA. While working toward a bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts, Chris served as a sergeant in the Army National Guard.
Jean Noble
Jean is tops Software’s sales executive for the southeastern U.S. She has 20 years of experience selling and marketing technology products and services for companies such as America Online (AOL), BroadVision, SAP Software and SkyBridge Global. Jean has a bachelor’s degree in business administration/management from the University of Michigan.
Robin Norfleet
Robin is a sales executive, handling direct sales to Australia and business development in the U.S. When she joined tops as a customer support rep in 2010, Robin brought along more than a decade of orthodontic practice experience as an assistant, clinical coordinator, office manager, treatment coordinator and practice consultant.
Stacey Peaden
Stacey began her career in 1997 as a dental assistant and soon moved into orthodontics. She worked her way through all practice areas, including orthodontic assistant, financial and insurance coordinator, treatment coordinator and finally public relations manager. Stacey joined tops in 2007, working in customer support for three years before moving to the transition team.
Holly Roberts
Holly is the tops Software product release manager. She has an extensive background in orthodontics, with previous jobs in marketing, sales, training and management for large companies (Cadent, Ortho Technology) as well as private practices. Holly has a bachelor’s degree in marketing management from Western Governor’s University in Salt Lake City.
Meri Sampson
Meri is a customer support representative. Before joining tops in 2011, she used topsOrtho as clinical supervisor for a busy Texas orthodontic practice. Meri was among the first 100 people in the U.S. to earn the title of Specialized Orthodontic Assistant. She has a bachelor’s degree in history from the University of Georgia, and enjoys coaching competitive cheerleading and tumbling.
Mary Schuldt
Mary joined tops in 2011 as a customer support rep. She was previously the office manager for a busy orthodontic practice in Eugene, Ore., where she was responsible for personnel, construction, patient, financial and technical matters. Mary has a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Oregon, and once took a grad level class on statistical regression, just for fun.
Linda Short
Linda trains new customers to use topsOrtho. She previously trained medical professionals on software for pharmaceutical and clinical trials, Panasonic customers on video editing software, and taught adult education computer classes. Earlier in her career, Linda was a television news editor. She has a bachelor’s degree in communications from John Carroll University in Ohio.
Randy Smith
Randy is the sales executive for the central U.S. and Canada. He has many years of experience in marketing and sales; most recently, he sold equipment to orthodontists and oral surgeons for manufacturers such as Boyd Industries, Welch Allyn, Instrumentarium and Walter Lorenz. Randy has a bachelor’s degree in marketing from Oklahoma State University.
Holly Tolbert
Holly joined tops in 2009 as a trainer, and now works in customer support. She began her career as an orthodontic assistant and soon became the clinic coordinator for a busy Atlanta orthodontic practice. Before tops, Holly consulted as a presenter and trainer for SureSmile, and was a clinical consultant and trainer for OrthoCAD’s 3D Digital CAD/CAM software.
Sara Walker
An Arkansas native, Sara worked her way up the ladder at Arvest Bank for nearly 15 years before joining tops in accounting in 2010. Sara toiled in the bank’s credit file room, was a loan officer, and most recently, was a VP mortgage loan officer. Sara loves music and can turn any conversation into a song. Her sister, Holly Tolbert (see above), is a topsOrtho customer support rep.
